This stunning 19th-century oil portrait captures the elegance of Aukje Keizer (1807-1890), the wife of esteemed doctor Dr. Dirk de Vries Reilingh (see other listing). Dressed in classic traditional Dutch attire, Aukje wears a Dutch white and pink lace cap, a signature style worn by women of wealth and status during the period. Her golden earrings and gold ring reflects the understated luxury of the era.

Painted by the renowned Bastiaan de Poorter (1813-1880), a master portraitist whose works are held in esteemed museum collections, this piece reflects the artistry of a painter who also served as director of the National Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam from 1870 to 1879.

The painting is elevated by its stunning original gilded frame, featuring unique raised edges that elegantly project forward, creating a sense of depth and grandeur.
