This rare German 19th-century portrait oil painting presents a gentleman of the Coburg Aristocracy. He is dressed in the style of the Biedermeier and early Victorian periods and was likely a member of the Coburg Elite. His strong facial expression makes this rare painting even more unique.

Coburg was an important cultural center in the 19th century, mainly due to the noble family of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, which later established connections with the British and Belgian royal families. 

This unique painting was influenced by the renowned Stobwasser tradition and represents the timeless sophistication of 19th-century European aristocracy.  An oil painting on an iron plate is rare, because it creates a unique texture and aesthetic, while it is very durable. A remarkable addition for any interior enthusiast.
